fgytydhdfb.blogspot.com
For cycling to give a facelift, addressing the World Tour Teams with a totally new game concept: The Hammer Series. The riders three days full team, with every day a different discipline on the menu: a full day climbing, sprinting and a full day to end an unprecedented pursuit race annex team time trial on the road. As will tomorrow / Friday this new, unique three-day match in Dutch Limburg location. Unique and promising due to its shape, but even more by the background.
The Hammer Series is a new step Velon - the association of ten World Tour teams - in their eternal battle with the current race organizers ASO head. "If we want to reach a younger generation, then we have to otherwise dare tackle. This is Jav Uncensored modern and appeals to people all over the world ", showed Patrick Lefevere, manager of Quick Step Floors, is quite excited about the new game.
What? Shorter, something different every day and every team
Again and again those rides in line of roughly 200 kilometers which is nothing to do, as well as some transition stages in the recent Giro: it might sometimes be different. That message seems to be understood by The Hammer Series. Unique to road cycling, but completely new it is not. It is clear that the organization has made the mustard on the slopes where - for example in the madison - even every few laps are to collect points and where the man or team wins the final sprint is not necessarily the final winner.
Specifically: the match lasts three days, with each day another component that day only lasts two hours. On day one is gone up on day two and sprinted on the final day determines a team time trial / pursuit of profit and loss.
On the first two days will be fought after each round to earn points: it is not on top of a sharp slope (one day), or in a quick spurt (day two). Then the team with the most points on day three it should start first in the pursuit race.
Friday climbing: in and around the Vaalserberg Vaals (the highest point in the Netherlands) to drive eleven laps of seven kilometers, accounting for 77 kilometers each with two slopes. At each passage at the top can earn points for the ten best climbers. The first slope is 900 meters long with an average gradient of 4.2% and 8.1%, the second climb is slightly longer (2km) and steeper 5.3% on average and up to 8.5%. In rounds 3,7 and 11 can earn double points.
Saturday sprinting: Same concept, except that now is headed for a flat circle of about ten kilometers. Again be distributed after each round points for the first ten sprinters. There are covered eight laps of 12.4 kilometers, accounting for 99 kilometers. After rounds 2, 5 and 8 can earn double points.
Sunday Pursuit: The points of the first two days will determine the starting order in the team pursuit over 45 kilometers. The course covered 14.9 kilometers in length and three times. The best team after the first two days may start first, 30 seconds later, the second best team. Another 25 seconds later, team three starts and eventually launch all remaining teams with 15 seconds difference. Teams may overtake each other but do not stay close to each other (such as the drafting of the triathlon). The team that first comes to the finish, is also the winner.
Who? Teams enact their toppers off
Each team has seven riders that every day five are selected. 16 teams at the start, with 12 World Tour teams: Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team BMC Racing Team Cannondale - Drapac Pro Cycling Team Lotto-oudal, Movistar Team Orica - Scott, Quick-Step Floors, Team Lotto NL - jumbo, Team Sky, Team Sunweb, Trek Segafredo and Team Emirates UAE. The Pro Continental teams: Nippo-Vini Fantini, Roompot Dutch Lottery, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA and Israel Cycling Academy.
It was at the show immediately clear that the teams had mobilized their top riders flocking to applaud this new initiative. And so the teams could not make it to - despite the busy schedule - not to delegate their toppers.
Since there are seven riders a good mix must be found between climbers - well, the Dutch slopes rather "punchers" - sprinters and time trial seem especially Belgian team Quick Step Floors and Lotto-Soudal with the favorites for the told victory. By BMC and Sky as the main outsiders.
Provisional list of participants:

Why? Statement by the teams themselves to ASO
The organizers behind The Hammer Series is none other than Velon, or an association of WorldTour teams who two years ago was created to allow commercial stronger together. Read: it is the teams themselves who organize this match. And the motive is not far to seek. Much longer is the World Tour Teams an eyesore how they are much too dependent on the current race organizers. Especially the conduct of ASO, organizer of the Tour more, many teams punch to the chest. While ASO iron all commercial and TV revenues of the Tour, the teams are fobbed off with peanuts. "In 2017, you get a team 48,000 euros to participate in the Tour. 30 people for 25 days. Surely that is not true? "Lefevere already voiced his frustrations in the past.
This brand new game is also a statement, proof that if necessary the teams themselves can organize competitions, out of all the ancient customs of cycling culture. Plus now they themselves can distribute among themselves all commercial income. Which also explains the specific intent. "Through this event for organizing three days at the same location, we have significant commercial opportunities that can come only cycling but good," Lefevere summarizes. ASO has warned.
Boonen is jealous "guarantee a good show"
Finally, let's Tom Boonen of the word, which as a pensioner of course no longer appears at the start but turned envy at the announcement to be on his younger colleagues: "In terms of excitement and spectacle is cycling here raised to a whole new level. I'm happy for my younger teammates that they can experience this. Short and fast races on a closed circuit will be guaranteed on a good show. "
